A Brazilian criminal lawyer bought an ultra-realistic mask online to commit a theft at an apart-hotel in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The case occurred on February 7, when lawyer Luís Maurício Martins Galda broke into an apart-hotel in Niterói wearing a silicone mask.

He stated that he paid around $320 for the mask, which was purchased from an international e-commerce site. Once inside the building, he stole belongings from an unidentified resident.

He took 8 watches valued at approximately $14,000. After the theft, he cut the mask into several pieces and threw the remains into organic waste.

When questioned by police, he claimed that the mastermind behind the crime was politician Alexandre Ceotto André, who allegedly provided him with the layout of the property and the resident’s routine.

On Tuesday (13th), the court issued an arrest warrant for Alexandre, but he has not yet been located by police.
